💷 NHS Dental Charges at Ladbroke Grove Dental (from April 2025):

Band 1 – £27.40

Covers basic care, such as:

  • Routine check-up (examination, advice, assessment)
  • X-rays (if needed)
  • Fluoride application
  • Simple scale & polish (if clinically necessary)
  • Basic gum treatment
  • Moulds for treatment planning
  • Minor denture/braces adjustments

Note: Scaling is included if your dentist confirms it’s needed for your gum health. If not clinically required, private charges may apply.

Band 2 – £75.30

Includes everything in Band 1, plus treatments like:

  • Fillings (including white fillings where clinically necessary)
  • Root canal treatment
  • Tooth extractions
  • Sealants for small cavities or deep grooves
  • Extensive gum disease management
  • Adjustments or additions to dentures
  • Bite-raising appliances (non-lab made)

White Fillings: Offered on front teeth where appropriate. On back teeth, silver (amalgam) is standard unless private options are chosen.

Root Canal: Complex cases may be referred or offered privately if preferred.

Band 3 – £326.70

Includes Bands 1 & 2 treatments plus:

  • Crowns (caps for damaged teeth)
  • Bridges (fixed replacements for missing teeth)
  • Dentures (false teeth, plastic or metal)
  • Inlays/onlays
  • Orthodontic treatments (braces) – where clinically necessary
  • Other custom-made appliances (excl. sports guards)

Crowns/Bridges: Usually metal on NHS; private cosmetic options are available – speak to your dentist.

Braces: NHS braces provided if deemed clinically necessary after assessment. Cosmetic or adult orthodontics may be private.

Urgent Care – £27.40

For emergency issues like:

  • Pain, infections, or swelling
  • Knocked-out teeth
  • Temporary fillings or root treatments
  • Urgent extractions (up to 2 teeth)
  • Bleeding, abscess drainage, denture/braces adjustments

Any follow-up treatments needed may fall under higher bands and will be discussed with you.

⏳ What if I need more treatment later?

  • Follow-up within 2 months in the same or lower band = no extra charge.
  • Further treatment in a higher band = you’ll pay the difference.
  • After 2 months, standard charges apply again.

🆓 Free Treatments

You won’t be charged for:

  • Stitch removal
  • Stopping bleeding (e.g. after extraction)
  • Repairing dentures (but replacing them is Band 3)
